Young Blake Kutcher* was knocked down by a truck as he was crossing the road on returning from the shops. He was 8 years old at the time. It was a great tragedy and he suffered very serious injuries. He had severe brain damage and massive loss of skin.
His brain injury badly affected his schooling. He was in the last half of Grade 3 when the accident happened. After the accident, he failed Grade 3 but they condoned him to Grade 4. He also failed Grade 4 but the school condoned him to Grade 5. He would never return to the little boy he once was.
