Personal Injury Claim Settled for a Staggering R3,050,000.00

updated: 06-Nov-16

When Hendro Strijdom* was seriously injured in an accident he turned to a local attorney for assistance with a personal injury claim. The local attorney did not have the experience and expertize to handle his claim and subsequently referred him on to specialist personal injury attorneys de Broglio Attorneys Inc. for assistance. Hendro said, “My attorney gave my case over to de Broglio. The claim was handled excellently by de Broglio Attorneys.”

Hendro had been working for a company which was awarded a contract to clean an Eskom power station. Whilst at work one day, an Eskom employee had forgotten to switch off the power supply as requested and the power station exploded with Hendro inside it. He was severely injured suffering from burns all over his face, neck, arms, legs and abdomen. Tragically, Hendro’s best friend died as a result of the same accident.

Hendro was ventilated and in I.C.U. for many weeks and required extensive plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as subsequent psychiatric treatment for very severe post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. In short, Hendro’s life changed forever on this fateful day.

De Broglio Attorneys Inc. represented him in his case and sued Eskom for damages and, despite Eskom appointing a top international law firm to represent them, won the case securing a fantastic settlement of R3,050,000.00 for Hendro.

De Broglio Attorneys Inc. settled Hendro’s claim out of court for the outstanding amount of R3,050,000.00. Hendro said, “The settlement was excellent. I am very happy with it.”

The attorney who handled his claim said, “Despite fierce resistance justice prevailed for our client. I am extremely pleased with the settlement figure we were able to obtain for our client and wish him all the best for the future.”
