Court Ordered Payment of R1,707,085.00

updated: 21-Nov-17

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is an organization that had a total revenue during the 2016/2017 financial year of R33.34 billion. This money is there for the public to claim if they are injured in a motor vehicle accident. “The RAF provides compulsory cover to all users of South African roads, citizens and foreigners, against injuries sustained or death arising from accidents involving motor vehicles within the borders of South Africa. This cover is in the form of indemnity insurance to persons who cause the accident, as well as personal injury and death insurance to victims of motor vehicle accidents and their families.”

Geert de Goede* was the driver of his vehicle at a 4-way intersection when the other vehicle skipped the stop street and connected with him in a high speed collision. As a result of the accident he suffered multiple spinal injuries that required spinal surgeries as well as a severe concussion which affected him.

He was hospitalized and lost income due to his time off recovering from his injuries. He was not aware of the RAF until he saw an advert of de Broglio Attorneys on the television while he lay in his hospital bed. He said, “I was lying in hospital and I saw an advert on the TV in front of me. I phoned the number and arranged to go and see them. I went through to them for a consultation and did all the paperwork and they did everything after that.”

Geert was very impressed with the quality of service he received from de Broglio Attorneys and he reported, “You guys are great, you always kept me informed, you kept me in the loop. You sent me lots of emails and it was a lot to read but informative.”

The de Broglio Attorneys Inc team settled his matter successfully in the South Gauteng High Court for the fantastic amount of R1,707,085.00. Geert said, “I am very happy about that. I have already recommended the law firm to some friends and family that have been involved in accidents.”
